Cindie Allen-Stewart has shared before and after pictures of her sunburnt back to show just how effective her 30-minute home remedy (a shaving cream) is, and it could come just in time

A mum has shared a ‘miracle’ shaving cream trick that will help calm sunburn in just 30 minutes – and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Many will be sporting red patches today after spending too long in the scorching heat, and Cindie Allen-Stewart, from Texas, has just the tip to help ease the pain – and it doesn’t involve aftersun.

She said that if you’re feeling the heat, you should reach for shaving cream – as she says that slathering it all over your back ‘works wonders’.

Then, apply the shaving cream to the burn. Don’t rub it in, just let it sit on your skin. It will start bringing all that heat out (you’ll be able to feel it). ‘You may feel like you are itchy too, but that’s a good thing! Itching means healing, she said. After 30 minutes, the shaving cream should have dissolved into spots and feel dried out and you feel a bit cold.

Next, rinse it off in a lukewarm or cool shower or bath. It’s just to get the residue off.

“Finally, if you still need it, do it again the next day. Usually, after that second treatment, the sunburn disappears, she concluded. She said it can be used on kids too.

In a Facebook post that went viral, Cindie wrote: “It takes the heat out of it fast and makes it more comfortable on you. First, buy some  It has to be the foam and it has to have menthol in it.
