A man reunited with his phone he accidentally dropped Into a river 10 months ago and found out it is still in good working condition.

The UK man identified as an internet user who dropped his mobile phone in a river nearly a year ago (about 10 months ago) says he unbelievably got the phone returned to him and interestingly the phone is still in good working condition, according to NDTV.

Miguel Pacheco, who found the phone, made a post in a local Facebook group about finding an iPhone while canoeing in the Wye River, earlier this year in this weird story.

Mr. Miguel said that he took the phone home, dried it properly by placing it in and out with an airline compressor, before placing it in the airing cupboard overnight, charged the device, and was surprised to discover it still worked. He was prompted to search for the owner, found out the couple’s address in Edinburgh, UK, and sent the phone to them.

The internet user revealed that the screensaver on the phone was a photo of a couple and the date it showed was August 13 – the photo he shared was recognized by friends of the phone’s owner Owain Davies and his fiancee Fiona Gardner.

According to BBC News, CBC News says Nun cho ga was unearthed after a miner called his boss over to examine something that was hit by his bulldozer in the mud at Eureka Creek, south of Dawson City.

The mummified ice age mammoth is thought to be more than 30,000 years old. It was found on Tuesday by gold miners in Yukon’s Klondike region owned by the Tr’ondek Hwech’in First Nation.

The Yukon government said it was “the most complete mummified mammoth found in North America”, and only the second such find in the world in comparison with Russia’s discovery of a baby mammoth Lyuba found in the permafrost of Siberia in 2007 which was some 42,000 years old, the Yukon government said in a press release.

The baby mammoth, thought to be female, has been named Nun cho ga, meaning “big baby animal” in the Han language spoken by Native Americans in the area.

It has become necessary o keep flies out of your house this summer – with temperatures creeping up without using chemicals or fly swatters. Basil is known to repel flies and mosquitoes as they hate the strong smell of the herb.

By putting a pot of basil on your windowsill, flies are less likely to come into your home. Mint is also said to keep flies away, and is available in many supermarkets.

A pot of basil in Aldi or Dunnes Stores costs about €1.39. Pots of mint can also be found for the same price. You can also pick up basil and mint pots in Tesco for €1.49.

Maura Dore, from Kildare, Ireland has claimed to have ‘saved a fortune’ by sleeping overnight at Dublin Airport instead of booking into a hotel. She slept over at the airport to skip the long queues at security, according to an Irish Mirror news report.

Maura Dore explained that in order to get public transport to reach the airport in time she would have to get up extremely early. She had to wait until the day of her flight to check in, which meant she had to hang around until after midnight to go through security. so she opted to sleep over in the terminal building instead.

She filmed her sleepover in the airport in a vlog for TikTok, saying in the clip to prove her point, therefore, saving up the hotel she would have paid for instead. In the video, she shared her sleepover experience.

Maura showed where she was initially camped out in Terminal 1 before she went through security, saying: “I honestly can’t complain, it’s quite comfortable, glad I’ve got my blanket and my little pillow.

“It’s only an hour and then I can go check-in, get one of the sleeping pods and actually get a good six hours sleep.”

“It is currently a quarter to eight in the evening. My flight is not until half seven tomorrow morning.

“I have saved myself a fortune on a hotel,” she said, filming her sleeping arrangements. “This right here is going to be mine for the night.”

Maura’s video has gained over 260k views on TikTok but received mixed opinions from viewers.

Researchers from Chiang Mai University’s Department of Animal and Aquatic Sciences said that fewer than 10% of the 1,000 chickens at the farm in Lampang have died unusually since they introduced cannabis leaves to the chickens’ diet in January 2021.

While the study’s findings are still under review and only cover one year’s worth of research, Chompunut Lumsangkul, an assistant professor who led the study, told Insider that the cannabis feed appears to be working. The mortality rate for the chickens at the farm has been the same as in regular seasons when there isn’t a severe outbreak of any bird-killing disease, she said.

The birds’ special food is produced by adding crushed cannabis to their feed and water, said Lumsangkul. No antibiotics and medicines are fed to or used on the chickens during this time.

Besides having healthier chickens, farms also produced chickens sold at higher prices to consumers seeking organic poultry.

Solomon Akoji, a native of Igala in Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria narrated that he lost his his left eye in Awka, Anambra State in 1987 as a little boy when was playing with other children in their neighbourhood. He recounted that a playmate threw a sharp object towards him that accidentally entered his eyes, while he was trying to dodge, cause a serious damage that he couldn’t see with the eye again. The doctors laboured but couldn’t stop him from losing the sight.

Graduate assistant lecturer in the Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State further narrated that lost the remaining eye too in 1990 in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

He recounted that he was called upon by his friends to go and stop a fight between a boy and a girl in their neighbourhood when the boy struck his eyes with a piece of stone he was holding and injured his right eye. Frequent visit to Jos University Teaching Hospital in Plateau State from that year to 1994 couldn’t save him from becoming completely blind.

A boy and a girl were fighting in our neighborhood, so I was told by my friends to go appeal to them to stop fighting. But unfortunately, when I got to the place, the boy, who had a stone in his hand, injured me in my right eye. I had gone there to make peace but sadly sustained a serious injury, which claimed my remaining eye, rendering me completely blind.

More than 90% of us host the 0.3mm long-microscopic parasite, Demodex follicularum, in the oily folds on our faces, mostly living in the pores near our noses and eyelashes – probably the closest relationship to another animal unknown to majority of us.

The bizarre and strange mite, Demodex follicularum, spends its entire lifetime living in our skin follicles. In the daytime they feed on our oily skin secretions, at night they leave the pore to find mates, and find new follicles in which to have sex and lay their eggs.

Dr Alejandra Perotti of the University of Reading, who co-authored the study of the micro-organism said we have been carrying the mites since we were born as they passed from mother to baby during breast feeding. He expounded that live too deep in the pores to be washed out with water and soap.

Dr Perotti further said that that we should love and appreciate them not just because they are cute but because they clean our pores.
