Not more than 2 alcoholic drinks to be consumed per day
To combat the risks that factor into getting cancer, researchers say alcoholic products need a label that warns consumers about the potential risk. They also believe alcohol should be taxed higher than it is now and there needs to be less marketing of alcohol drinks.
Harriet Rumgay, the study co-author, of the International Agency for Research on Cancer, told the media that the impact of alcohol in causing cancer is often overlooked or unknown, but there should be increased public awareness of the link between alcohol and cancer, and recommended policies to decrease overall alcohol consumption to prevent the burden of cancers and other diseases attributable to alcohol.
Harriet Rumgay and his colleague concluded that although cutting back reduces the risk of contraction, there is no safe level of alcohol when it comes to cancer as both modest drinking and heavy drinking were linked to the cases against the thought of many.
