According to the unexpected strange news report, The hacker, Lennert Wuoters got access through a voltage fault injection attack on a Starlink User Terminal with his homemade circuit board or modchip device and gained access to the Starlink disc and explore the company’s network.
In Lennert Wouters’ retweet of Oleg Kutkov @olegkutkov, ”I decided to repack and port #Starlink #Dishy firmware to a different hardware platform. Development board combined with some secret ingredients from the Dishy PCB. Sure, there is no modem or DBFs, but it’s a convenient way to play with the system, debug binaries, and have fun”

The cybersecurity researcher, Lennert Wuoters explained that he developed the homemade modchip for just $25 dollars and he was able to use the device to gain root access once he glitched the Starlink UT security operations bootrom.
“Our attack results in an unfixable compromise of the Starlink UT and allows us to execute arbitrary code. The ability to obtain root access on the Starlink UT is a prerequisite to freely explore the Starlink network,” Wuoters explained.
