- Login to your new account to start your application.
- Apply Online: This requires completing or filling out the online form and submitting it. You will use your reference code to provide answers to online form questionnaire.
- Wait for processing of the visa application: The waiting time for Canada Temporary Resident Visas is 16 days for online application (excluding document mailing time) once you submit your application and 20 days for in-person application (excluding document mailing time), but it will take around 3 to 5 days for it to show up on your account

If that happens, you must attend the interview at the scheduled time and respond to all the questions honestly. if the Consulate requires an interview or your biometrics, you will have to show up in person even if you applied online. If you did in-person application, then you will have to visit the Consulate multiple times to complete the whole application process.
- Submit your passport for stamping and processing: Once your Canada Temporary Resident visa is approved, the notification will show up on your online account or the Embassy will let you know once you complete the interview and you will be required to submit your passport at the Consulate for stamping and processing. For successful interview on online application, the Embassy will send you an email with instructions on where to mail your passport. You must mail the passport and the processing fees, as well as pay for a return envelope. For successful interview on in-person application, you will visit the Embassy and then you will pay the processing fees there and submit your passport to the Consular Officer in person.
- Passport processing: The Consulate will process your passport, stamp it, and return to you in person (for in-person applicants) or they mail it back to you (for online applicants). It will take a few days to arrive if it is mailed after processing.
