Private education company ILAC has been permitted from the British Columbia (BC) Ministry of Advanced Education’s PTIB Division to deliver a model pathway program in affiliation with Thompson Rivers University that enables international students to journey across to universities and colleges in the BC system.

The IELTS entry level is set at 5.5 performance benchmark for admission into the program, which comprises intensive training in language and other university year one courses deliverable online through TRU’s Online Learning (Open Learning) Division.

“The ILAC-TRU International Year One program is a 2019 signature program,” emphasised by Jonathan Kolber, co-founder of the Canadian private education company.

He further hinted that international students have the opportunity to transit more easily into the BC University and college system. He described the program as being unique in Canada and only available through ILAC

At TRU World, the internationally-focussed university operation, director of international recruitment and marketing, ZiPing Feng explained that international students will be able to gain from taking both language training and well-selected university year one courses simultaneously and in the place.

He opined that it would be a challenging and exciting journey for the learners, but the learners would obviously be happier after completion of the program.

Another benefit international students can derive is that the credits earned with the TRU OL courses are transferable to most universities in BC system and Canada, according to program partners.

Even though the pathway programs are surely common in the highly professional area, the courses for university freshers deliverable via online classes is facilitated by in-class instructors and such is innovative, according to ILAC.

“The custom-designed joint program reflects the strong pathway partnership between language schools and higher institutions or universities by allowing international students to take university courses on the ILAC campus,” emphasized Diana Mockute, director, strategic pathways and partnerships of the company.
