Aim of Celebrating World Food Day – To find solutions to hunger, malnutrition, and problems related to food production and sustainability.

World Food Day is celebrated on the 16th of October every year since 1979 celebrated to raise awareness of hunger and healthy eating habits to commemorate the establishment of the United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1945.

World Food Day is celebrated by organizations such as the World Food Program and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

But this year the day will be co-chaired by organizations such as FAO, UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency, and the World Food Program (WFP).

According to the United Nations, this year’s event will take place in about 150 countries around the world with multiple partners and government involvement. This day is organized to talk about and find solutions to hunger, malnutrition, and problems related to food production and sustainability.

Historically, World Food Day is celebrated on the 16th of October every year since 1979 as recommended by the former Hungarian Minister of Agriculture and Food, Dr. Pal Romany. celebrated to raise awareness of hunger and healthy eating habits to commemorate the establishment of the United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1945. Gradually, over time, it raises awareness of hunger, malnutrition, sustainability, and food production

Its objective and importance are to fight world hunger and eradicate hunger worldwide.

The theme of World Food Day 2021 is “Safe food today for a healthy tomorrow”. This year’s theme is based on the appreciation of the people who have helped create a sustainable environment where

no one goes hungry. Last year’s (2020) theme was based on the suffering of millions of people during the coronavirus pandemic.
