12 SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS ARRESTED BY EFCC IN YAHOO YAHOO SCHOOL IN LAGOS

12 suspected Internet fraudsters have been arrested by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos. They were arrested on Thursday in where they used as Yahoo Yahoo School. The school used for internet fraudulent activities was in a rented three-bedroom apartment in the Ikotun area of Lagos.

The Internet fraudsters attempted to flush the ‘exhibit’ in toilet that opens in a new browser tab. The arrest followed intelligence reports received from concerned members of the public about their alleged criminal activities.

Some of the suspects, according to a report tried to escape arrest by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials by hiding on the roof top of the apartment during the incursion. The EFCC officials recovered items like laptops and mobile phones from the suspected internet fraudsters.

The suspects are Oluwaseun Ogunbunmi, Haruna Yusuf , Olubori Hassan, Wasiu Idowu, Basit Adeniran, Aina Olajuwon, Okafor Joseph, David Ado, Olamide Ogunseye, Opeyemi Ahmed , Monsuru Amao and Taiwo Rasak.

The Commission in charge of fighting Economic and Financial Crimes hinted that the suspects would soon be charged to court.

In May this year, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Office, arrested the proprietor of a ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ unnamed training school, Frank Chinedu, alongside eight students in Lagos. The school was located at 14, Animashaun Street, Progressive Estate, Ojodu Berger, Lagos. They were arrested while receiving lessons on internet fraud operations.

According to the verified Facebook page of the anti-graft agency, Chinedu, 22, was arrested alongside eight students of the unnamed training centre located at 14, Animashaun Street, Progressive Estate, Ojodu Berger, Lagos, while receiving lectures in internet fraud activities.

The EFCC raided the school in an undercover operation following intelligence report received by the Commission about their involvement in alleged internet criminal activities.

At the point of arrests, 9 laptops, 16 mobile phones, an Airtel modem, Orange Wifi and one Toyota Camry with registration number EPE406FN were the items recovered from the suspects.
