If you do not forward this message, we will consider it your invalid account and will be deleted within the next 48 hours. Do not ignore this message or WhatsApp will no longer recognize your activation.

So the hoax says WhatsApp will charge you money soon because the servers are congested. Facebook-owned WhatsApp states that it never makes your account active or inactive regardless of network congestion and without user consent.

Spam 2: WhatsApp premium version

The second deceptive trick or spam is WhatsApp premium version. Have you ever been on the list of WhatsApp Gold invitees? In its defense, WhatsApp sends invitations to contacts on your list who don’t have WhatsApp installed. But never send an invitation for pro/gold/plus/star or any similar version without announcing such an update to the public.

Spam 3: WhatsApp Virus

The WhatsApp virus is not sent from within the app, but via the phone’s email client. Users are sent an email notifying them that you have a missed call on WhatsApp or voicemail. The email contains a link that claims to show the missed conversation or call. Upon tapping on it, a virus is downloaded on your device.

Since WhatsApp uses your phone number, no notification can be given through a vulnerable and unrelated source such as email.  It is best to ignore such messages or simply report them as spam.

Our servers have been very congested lately, so we are asking for your help to resolve this issue. We need our active users to forward this message to everyone on their contact list to confirm our active users are using WhatsApp. If you do not send this message to all your contacts on WhatsApp, your account will remain inactive with the consequence of losing all your contacts. Whatsapp will start loading unless you are a frequent user. Forward this message to more than 9 people in your contact list and your What’s app logo will turn blue, which means you have been a free user for life. ” To this, WhatsApp replied: “ WhatsApp will no longer charge subscription fees. Over the years we have asked several people to pay a fee for using WhatsApp after the first year.

Spam 5: WhatsApp Spy App

This hoax has spread so widely that if you search for “WhatsApp Spy App” on Google, you will find several articles on how to spy on other people along with links to various applications and software.

To avoid contacting you with potential harm, never forward this message and report spam immediately even as WhatsApp maintain it is diligently working towards reducing the spam messages.

Meanwhile, some smartphones will soon be banned from accessing WhatsApp internet messaging services from November 1, the instant messaging app said.
