Google Search Console: 3 Core Web Vitals Ranking Factor Metrics –

(Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) for keyword websites search changed

Google is changing the ranking factor for keyword website search through how Core Web Vitals are measured and reported on in its Search Console.

Changing how Core Web Vitals are measured and reported on in Google Search Console means that the Google Search Console report would only show a “good” rating if metric were under the ideal thresholds. A website that ranks for keyword search can now achieve a “good” rating if measurements meet the ideal thresholds such that Google changelog notes website owner would see a positive result in a rating in Google Search Console as a result following the update.

The metrics defining the boundaries for Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) which were previously as below 2.5 seconds for Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) are now defined as <= (less than or equal to).

Google’s John Mueller has hinted at the fact that defined ideal metric thresholds for all three Core Web Vitalls – LCP, FID, and CLS may need to be met in order to benefit from the ranking enhancement.

The update rollout of Core Web Vitals is expected to take effect from May 2021 but the website owners can start preparing towards reviewing the Core Web Vitals report in Search Console to see where your website stands.

It remains unclear Whether Google will go through with rolling out a badge in search results but it is certain Core Web Vitals will be ranking factors and work to optimize their websites for keyword search towards benefiting from the ranking enhancement.
