Whatsapp Payment is an enabled feature for users of Whatsapp’s online social medium platform. The Whatsapp Payment feature is built upon the country’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) also called Virtual Payment Address (VPA) framework to facilitate money transfer. Actually, WhatsApp Pay has joined a growing list of UPI-powered payments services — which include Google Pay, Flipkart’s PhonePe, PayTM, and dozen more — to allow users to send and receive money interbank free of charge in a fast and secure manner.
This interbank money transfer service is a huge development for Whatsapp which is owned by Facebook to tap into e-commerce opportunities, a market niche beyond messaging capabilities.
A Whatsapp app user needs the latest version of WhatsApp for Android OS (for Android mobile phone users) or the latest version for iOS (for iPhone and iPad users) as well as have his or her WhatsApp number linked to his or her bank account.
