Manchester United and England football star, Marcus Rashford, who is poised to end child poverty by campaigning for free meal to school children in the UK, gets PFA Merit Award

Marcus has already helped to raise £20million to fund 3.9million meals for vulnerable children in lockdown and now seeking to help extra 1.5million children.

Manchester United football star, Marcus Rashford, who is poised to eradicate child poverty in the UK, gets PFA Merit Award in recognition for his work tackling child poverty in the UK, according to a sports media report.

After receiving the PFA Merit Award, the Manchester United football star, Marcus Rashford said that It was a huge honour for him and that he hoped it would encourage and promote other players to do things to help.

He described the first phase which was the short term phase as probably the hardest part and the most difficult, which was learning and self-teaching, and getting the right people to get in contact with to help these children.

Just about two days ago, The Manchester United player, who has campaigned to end child food poverty, criticized the MP Tory when North Yorkshire MP Kevin Hollinrake tweeted about the Eat Out to Help Out as a successful scheme.

Marcus Rashford then challenged the tweet urging the Tory MP to talk to families before tweeting, claiming that such comments could often make families struggle to reach out for help.

According to Marcus Rashford, ‘’To this day I haven’t met one parent who hasn’t wanted or felt the responsibility to feed their children… “We need to start uplifting each other. I would have had the same response to anyone tweeting this…” His reply attracted thousands of retweets and likes.

The England striker as since this year had successful campaigns for free school meal vouchers to be provided to school children over the summer periods.

Marcus has already helped to raise £20million to fund 3.9million meals for vulnerable children in lockdown. He is now seeking an expansion of free school meals to every youngster from a Universal Credit household, helping extra 1.5million children.

The 22-year-old Manchester United football star, who now earns £200,000 a week, who has a Cheshire home worth £1.85million, wants children to be the Government’s No1 priority.
