It is a public-private partnership that will vaccinate 19,000 at Bank of America Stadium.

Ahead of the game, NCDHHS has announced that it will deploy a mobile COVID-19 vaccine unit at the AT&T Football Fiesta in Lomare Bearden Park. Vaccinations are available from 15:30 to 19:30. Additional vaccines from Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson will be available.

NCDHHS said a bilingual healthcare professional will answer all your questions.

Mecklenburg County Public Health`s Autumn Watson said this will make COVID19 vaccine information easily accessible

Watson said that they had run across that instance a lot where individuals don`t necessarily go seek out the information, but when the opportunities are presented to them and they have an opportunity to ask questions, they do make the decision to get the vaccination.

In addition to the vaccine unit, there will be a pregame tailgate from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at parking lot 3 hosted by the North Carolina chapter of Pancho Villa`s Army, fan giveaways, a fan meet-and-greet with former Mexico World Cup defender and team captain, Claudio Suarez, known as “El Emperador,” and more.

NCDHHS said that made great progress in getting vaccines to Hispanic and Latinx communities across North Carolina

They have made great progress in getting vaccines to Hispanic and Latinx communities across North Carolina, but we still have more work to do to ensure everyone is protected from the serious illness and complications that can result from COVID19 infection, NCDHHS Secretary Mandy Cohen said, and further said that as a big soccer fan, he was particularly excited about this partnership where we can work together to share accurate information about the vaccines and keep people healthy.

The Match falls outside FIFA’s International  Friendly Match Day

Mexico and Ecuador will both have new-look squads when El Tri takes on La Tri in an international friendly at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

The fact that the exhibition match falls on a date outside of a FIFA international window means that both coaches could not call up their regular squads. That opens the door for fringe players and younger prospects to play their way onto two national teams that are on track to be at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Mexico – Ist in CONCACAF and Ecuador is in 3rd for 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Mexico leads regional qualifying in CONCACAF after six of 14 matches, while Ecuador is currently in third place with only six matches to play in South America. That placement would be enough to see the Ecuadoreans advance directly to the World Cup.

The soccer match begins at 8:30 p.m.
