NYSC DG Condemns Enrollment of Unqualified Graduates

NYSC DG Brig Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim has strictly warned tertiary institutions of learning producing corps members against the mobilization and enrollment of unqualified graduates in the scheme and asked them to desist from such undesirable practices. He claimed that such practices have come to the notice of the agency.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) new Director General in his address to the Data Entry Officers and the Development Relocation Officers from different tertiary institutions of NYSC States cautioned against mobilization and enrollment of unqualified corps.
This was made known during a workshop held in Abuja by the Director General and the bodies involved with data collation, mobilization and dispatch or corps. He noted that unqualified graduates should not be enrolled in the forthcoming mobilization.
The Director General noted clearly that National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) would blacklist any institution found guilty of such mobilization and fraudulent act so it can serve as a possible punishment to others.
He also advised the participants to avoid any form of act, even temptations, to thwart the process of the mobilisations and enrollment of the candidates.
In respect to that, he revealed that the National Youth service Corps was getting ready mobilising the Batch B expected corps candidates by June amid the report gotten from the Federal Ministry of Finance that the monthly allowance to be paid to corps members had been increased to N30,000 following the new minimum wage approval.
The NYSC DG finally said that as leaders we should do the rightful things maintaining a perfect and honest life by checking and having correct data.
Tertiary institutions usually send the youth service body the list of their graduates who qualify to be enrolled in the programme. The candidates are currently being mobilised in three batches – Batch A, Batch B and Batch C in each service year.
