Candidates who registered and are preparing to sit for the two exams have bitterly expressed their grievance about the clashes.

A Moslem body, The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has also reacted to the development in the released timetables of WAEC (West African Examination Council) and the JAMB (Joint Admissions Matriculations Board).

This was disclosed to the press by Professor Ishaq Akintola, Founder and Director of MURIC. MURIC complained some WAEC papers will be taken on the same  day that a core JAMB paper will be sat for. MURIC further called on both WAEC and JAMB to work together and harmonize the discrepancies.

The concerned right group hinted that WAEC’s Animal Husbandry schedules for next week Thursday 11th April by 9 am on Thursday, will be written on the same day and at the same time with a JAMB Paper. MURIC describes the situation as difficult for affected candidates.

It stated that such situation can cause a candidate to miss JAMB exams which would make the candidate wait for a whole year before having another opportunity to sit for the exam. It advised that our society should not jeopardise the educational chances of our young ones irrespective of religious background.

Prof Ishaq Akintola said that anything that would allow these youths to remain idle for twelve good months should be discouraged because of what is happening in the society at present. ‘’An idle hand is the devil’s workshop’’, he affirmed.

He reiterated that the clash must have been a mistake as the credibility of both examination bodies JAMB and WAEC are not in doubt them

He praised the JAMB boss and described the current transformation of JAMB under the leadership of Professor Ishaq Oloyede as unprecedented, untiring and the purest of its kind.
