The most feared Columbian drug lord in the world captured
Columbian military forces capture one of the world’s most-wanted drug lords compared to Pablo Escobar captured
Colombian military forces have captured the leader of one of the country’s largest drug cartels, President Ivan Duque of Columbia announced.
Dairo Antonio Usaga, widely known by the alias Otoniel, is considered one of Colombia’s most-wanted drug lords for his role at the top of the Clan del Golfo, or Gulf Clan, drug trafficking group.
President Ivan Duque said in a video speech on Saturday that Otoniel is the most feared drug dealer in the world, a police killer, army social leader, and child recruiter in which he added that the arrest was only comparable to the fall of Pablo Escobar.”, Colombian drug kingpin killed by Colombia’s national police in 1993.
A 34-year-old police officer was killed during an operation to arrest Usaga, 50, the national police said.
Usaga, a former paramilitary fighter, is charged with trafficking cocaine, killing police officers, recruiting minors into cartels, and sexually abusing children.

The US State Department had offered up to $5 million for information leading to the Columbian drug lord‘s arrest
The US State Department has offered up to $5 million for information leading to Usaga’s arrest or conviction, describing the Gulf Clan as a “heavily armed and extremely violent” cartel.
He said the cartel consisted of members of terrorist groups who refused to be demobilized following the peace and justice process in Colombia and used violence and intimidation to control drug trafficking routes, cocaine processing laboratories, and secret airstrips.
