WhatsApp will stop working on older mobile phone devices in 2 months’ time
Popular instant messaging app WhatsApp will cease working on older smartphone models come the 1st of November. WhatsApp is officially the world’s most popular international instant messaging platform, with approximately two billion users around the globe, and has now notched up a staggering five billion downloads, making it only the second non-Google app to achieve this milestone.
The Facebook-owned app, which regularly phases out support for older devices, will unleash its latest cull within two months by 1st November, meaning the app will stop working on 43 older smartphone models.
The Facebook-owned app, WhatsApp, has added iOS-to-Android chat history transfer tool rolls to Samsung devices and now also lets you join in-progress group call – free form group chat likened to Zoom calls in a bid to stop supporting the app on older mobile phone models in a bid to keep the app secure, according to media reports.
