In weird news of today, a man breaks down in tears after his son he tutored for a year scored 6% in a Math Exam and the news has gone viral.
Disappointingly, the bizarre news reported on a media outlet, Yahoo, was captioned ‘’Chinese father breaks down after son he tutored daily for a year scores a 6/100 on math exam’’
The Chinese father who reportedly tutored his son daily for a year went viral for bursting into tears after his son scored six out of 100 points on a math exam.
A video posted to Weibo by Qilu Evening News showed a man bursting into tears upon realizing his test score on June 23 that their son had only received six points for his final math test.
“I don’t care anymore, my efforts are wasted, let him struggle by himself!” the father reportedly lamented.
The man who purportedly tutored his child until midnight every day for the past year can be seen crying in a bedroom and wiping his eyes, while his wife can be heard laughing in the background.
His disappointment also stems from his son’s inconsistent test results.
The mother said her son’s results have been promising in previous exams, scoring between 40 and 50 points to 80 and 90 points but it is weird to see him perform poorly this time.
The video went viral on Weibo, with many Netizens sympathizing with the father’s parenting struggles. However, others argued that the child’s score was a reflection of the father’s inability to teach math while some other viewers also suggested that the father’s late-night tutoring may have affected his son’s ability to pay attention at school.
One social media commenter said: “Teaching the child in the middle of the night every day, but the child needs a lot of rest to have a good mental state and perform well’’. “The more stressed my daughter was when she was a child, the more unable her brain was to think, so she would be fine to let her play.” He continued.
As a Math tutor, I think the boy’s failure may have resulted from probable switching of questions or mistakenly putting the answer of one question into a wrong answer space unknown to him.
The child’s parents were said to hail from Zhengzhou, Henan Province in Central China.
