A Chinese woman has spent 10 years of her lifetime writing fake Wikipedia on Russian history in our Weird News blog of today, Wednesday, January 23, 2023.

According to Oddity Central Weird News report, a Chinese woman named as ‘Zhemao’, after one of her aliases on Wikipedia, has reportedly spent the last decade of her life writing hundreds of bogus Wikipedia entries on Russian history and contributing to hundreds of others.

A mysterious woman has been allegedly responsible for one of the biggest tricks in Wikipedia’s history, having made over a period of 10 years over 200 made-up articles on Russian medieval history with fake locations, events and characters, according to the strange news reporting online reports from several established news sources in China.

The Weird News revealed that over the past decade, the Chinese woman operating several author accounts wrote several million words of fake Russian history, creating over 200 articles and contributing to hundreds more. They featured intricate stories, made-up wars and characters, all woven into boring enough entries to pass as historic accounts.

The writer’s work has gone viral, prompting Wikipedia to launch an investigation into the matter leading to her confession of being a housewife with a high school degree and a rich imagination, the weird news revealed.

As a free encyclopedia, Wikipedia has been one of the best sources of general information when making one searches or researching subjects-matter of interest.
